This week, our community had the pleasure of hosting 33 exchange students from Metz, France. Before arriving in Roanoke, the students and their teachers enjoyed a weekend in Washington D.C., visiting the National Mall and the White House. More than a dozen CHS families hosted the visitors during their stay in the Roanoke Valley (thank you, families!). The students visited Community High School, Glenvar High School, and Roanoke Catholic School to observe classes and student life at three very different American educational institutions. They also toured Roanoke College and Hollins University while they were here. While the French students only stayed in Roanoke for four days, they made lifelong friends. Students and their hosts bonded over bowling, the hugeness of Walmart, and American food. We loved having them visit, and hope to see them again before too long!
