Thank you for your interest in Community High School. We look forward to meeting you. Please take a moment to review the admissions process outlined below, which details all the necessary forms, letters and documents we need to fully review your student’s application to CHS.
The admissions process begins once we’ve received the application for admission, Permission Form, Emergency Contact Form, two letters of recommendation, and transcripts (including attendance records, discipline records and special education accommodations or IEP, and immunization records). Transcripts can be requested using the Authorization for Release/Exchange of Record Information form available below. We will accept materials via email, mail, fax, or dropped off in person. You may submit materials as they are completed.

Once the necessary documentation has been reviewed by the CHS admissions staff, we may contact you to schedule a full day on-campus visit. If selected for a visit, your student will be expected to participate in class discussion, read aloud when requested, and show interest in the classes attended. During the visit, your student will also be interviewed by the Academic and Administrative Directors. During this interview process, students are expected to be able to speak to their desire to attend CHS, their current educational history and motivation, and their own strengths and weaknesses.
On the evening of the on-campus visit, students are required to compose an essay related to one or more of the academic classes observed during the visit. The prompt will be provided at the end of the day, and the essay is due the following morning. Essays should be emailed to Meg Snow (firstname.lastname@example.org), or dropped off at the school if email is unavailable.
Overview of Materials
Please submit the following to Community High School for consideration for admission:
- Application (PDF, 200kb) and an application fee of $25.00
- Emergency Treatment Form
- Permission Form
- Complete transcripts from all schools attended from 6th grade forward: please submit the Authorization for Release/Exchange of Record Information form to your student’s school(s) to request transcripts
- Two letters of recommendation from current teachers
- Portfolio (optional but encouraged): students may also submit additional samples of their work, including writings, artwork, photographs, videos, computer programs, graphics, etc., to supplement their application
We encourage families to contact us if you are interested in applying to Community High School for the 2018-19 school year.
Applicants who submit completed applications before April 1, 2018, will be notified regarding admissions decisions by May 1, 2018.

Applications submitted on or after May 1 will be considered for remaining spots on a rolling basis.
