Hello to all,
As I write final exams are being administered, final papers collected and the academic year draws to a close. Yet, there is still work to be done and fun to be enjoyed.
We will not have school on Monday – Memorial Day. We will additionally have a faculty workday on Tuesday. This will give us the opportunity to assemble and consider the end of the year evaluations before conference day on Wednesday. All students/parents should be scheduled for a conference. If not, please contact Roni immediately. Conferences are crucial to our assessment process. These conferences must involve one or both parents as well as the student because this is the opportunity for the student to reflect and make personal assessments. What the teachers contribute in writing is given out after the student/teacher/parent discussion is finished.
All students should report to school on Thursday at 9:00. This will be a full day of rehearsal for presentations and graduation as well as the time to register for the fall courses.
Presentations begin at 4:00 at the Dumas. I heartily encourage everyone to attend this event. It is an opportunity to experience the results work of the semester and a way to really understand what makes CH such a unique educational enterprise. Plus, it is a very impressive show of student talent and just plain fun.
Graduation exercises will begin at 6:00 at the Dumas. Please join us to support and commend those of our community who we will send off to their next life adventure.
Logan Martin and family are graciously hosting a potluck celebration after graduation at the Culinary School across the street from the Dumas. Food may be delivered to the Culinary School before Graduation. We are most appreciative of Logan’s efforts to gather the community for a final moment of celebration and hope everyone will participate. It will be a great day for Community High.
My thanks to each of you for your efforts this year and going forward. It is together that we continue to create an amazing learning space for all of us.
Linda
