Curriculum

We are an independent school with an independent curriculum. Our coursework is designed according to traditional liberal arts principles that emphasize critical thinking—reading, mathematics, writing, making, listening and speaking—over rote memorization. Our teachers are accomplished professionals who choose to work in a school where they have authorship of their own courses. In all subjects, we explore the mode of inquiry: how we know what we know. Students are encouraged to work directly with outside scholars and professionals by taking classes at area colleges and through formalized internships.
